Default Oxygen Sensor Replacement

Does anybody know when the oxygen sensor needs to be replaced in a 95 Audi A6? I just hit 60k and I thought it needed replacement, but I couldn't find it in my maintenance schedule. Do I still need to replace it?

Default When I took my '96 A6Q in for its 60k service...

The service manager at the Audi dealer in Gilford, NH told me not to bother until they failed. I didn't change my first one until 90k. Still have the other three originals. They cost too much to worry about ahead of time, IMHO. And it didn't seem to cause any catastrophy when it finally did fail. The "Check Engine" light came on. But I tend to be lazy, so take that FWIW.

Default Yeah, you won't really notice what damage they do when they fail...

Until your cats are plugged. I, too, won't be replacing mine until they fail.

When they fail, the light comes on, you replace them. It would take quite a bit of driving with a check engine light on for a failed sensor to plug a cat.

Have MIL on now. Local garage did a scan for me and tells me the code is 23xx (can't rememeber last two digits). 96 A6 w/ 70K. How can you tell which of the four O2 sensors have failed?
