Default Please help with a little timing belt question!

I am in the process of putting the timing belt back on but I had on question about the tensioner. I removed the timing belt tensioner and it 'sprung' off. I have the bolt and tensioner.

My Question:

Is there a sping that goes behind the tensioner? I felt as if there was one and looks as if there should be one. Please help

I'll give you more info as soon as I am completely finished. Monmouth Beach! I moved from Middletown to Cherry Hill 4 years ago. Not too far.

(Timing belt?)No spring, just tighten it by hand and anchor it.

Default There wasn't a spring for the timing belt tensioner.

I removed the tensioner before removing the toothed belt. The residual belt tension was enough to 'launch' the tensioner on the final bolt threads which kind of felt as if there was a spring behind the tensioner. I looked at the bentley and some diagrams and there isn't a spring. I had the same fell at the tensioner when putting the new belt on.
