Ive got a 93 100s 2.8l V6. The ECS light is on, and the only way the car will start is if I lay the pedal to the floor. When i take my foot off the gas, it dies out. any idea's as to what the problem is, or where to start looking?

By no means are they a roadmap to your problem. You could start there though. How clean is your MAF??? Cleaner cost is about $6 a can. Usually, even with new cars... the pedal to the floor trick is used for a floded engine. IMHO, your throwing maf and such codes, because you have an air problem. As ppl we all think gas makes a car run. Not true... air is equally importnat. Reguardless of your DTCs'.. You need to look for air problems. What I'm stabbing @ is there is no sense replacing the MAF. Since DTCs' are thrown by sensors, there is a lot of elbo room. To clarify, what I mean, is if you have a problem with your car, you'll flag a CEL. The problem will be close to the sennsor, but not necessarilly @ tha point. IE... try things like cleaning your maf and TB. Look @ the air filter. If you have to floor the car to get it to start.. Then, the engine is not getting enough air to turn the gas into initable fumes. That is why flooring it makes it start.. Essentailly, what your doing is opening the TB's butterfly wide open and giving the engine more air. ie that seems to be where you problem lies

Well, I can attest to knowing that the Air filter is new, and the MAF isnt reading any resistance on the ohm-meter(iirc, that means its shot.) IF replacing the MAF doesnt do it, Im going to work my way to the throttle body. Also, could a faulty EGR valve cause this issue? IF after replacing the MAF, I still aint getting anywhere, what should I look for next?
btw, We were able to get the car to idle at about 400-500rpm for about 10 minutes.
