To be sure:
- locate the fuse. It would have 12V when ignision is on and 0, when it is off
- pull the fuse out - one of the sides will lose power. This is protected side. You need to use it. Otherwise you may fry the system.
- put the fuse back.
Stoney in A6 forum has list of links. There is a lot of links on radar comparison and hard wiring V1 and other radars - look at it.
Another good advise - hard wire the fog lights so they always on (search archives, I published, how to do it). The fog lights will somewhat delay the laser measurement, so you will have more time to adjust speed.
