from Metalnerd.com (not the cheap Chinese-made tool from Harbour Freight). Because my brake pistons were not rusted/frozen, I didn't damage the piston at all using the plier method. But I understand why you don't recommend this procedure. It's always best to use the special tool designed for the repair. But sometimes you have to compromise when you don't have or can't get the tool, IMHO.

(since turning it backward also rased the piston out). Now I use the 9" clamp. I turn it 1/2 a turn and the piston turns clockwise as well. Then a release a bit and repeat these steps untill the piston in all the way in.
