Hello members!

I am thinking about to refinish my interior wood trim because it is soo scratched..
My openien is that's not real wood but a fake.
I am affraid to wet send it because i don't know if the wood is just painted.
Does anyone know that i can calmly wet sanding without getting trouble and than just normally paint the clear coat?

i was meant without hurting the wood(?) which can be a fake wood and its just a painting,and by the wet sending i will remove it all

is it just scratched or is it cracked too? If its just surface scratches try buffing them with rubbing compound and an electric buffer.

Audi doesn't use fake wood, its real wood veneer that is attached to eiother a plastic or metal backing.

I am going to buy a polisher machine and i will polish it,
even if i can wet sanding it maybe the clear coat will be not pass
