So, I've had my car for a little over 3 months now, and after endless amounts of headaches, lawsuits, and the like, things are starting to settle down. She finally got fixed from the accident that she was in (only four days after having her) and everything is calming down.
After driving around the rough roads of Pittsburgh, I've noticed that my Audi rides kind of rough... A lot different than the other cars I've driven. I'm pretty sure this isn't an Audi thing, and was just wondering what all I could do to improve the quality of my ride.
I don't feel like taking it into the dealer and having them look at it, because I feel like they'll make me bend over and grab my ankles, so any ideas?
I thought about simply replacing the shocks but I'm not sure of really what else to do.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

shocks, motor mounts, tranny mounts, over inflated tires...or maybe the car is still weak form the accident :-)
I would check tire then change shocks the check the others if it still rides rough

I've got a wagon, and I've had 2 sedan in past 4 months. All have the same harsh ride, and that didn't change when I went to Boge Turbo Gas struts in our wagon, or in one of the non-quattro sedans.
Definately not a soft, luxury car ride. But, the payback is they handle like they're on rails at any speed.
Deflate your tires to the recommended pressures on the label in the driver's door jamb and that'll help some.
You could also purchase some soft sidewall Michelin's for it.
But, if you're used to either American or Japanese car ride, the German thing is a whole nother ball game.

Well, I know how the germans make their cars. My grandad just bought an 06 E550 last year, and it rides like a dream... Like you're on a freaking cloud. Almost as if you're in a boat... Plus, the newer Audis ride pretty nice as well.
Tires are inflated to dealer specs (as well as what the car reccomends), and they're brand new with less than 3k on them.
As far as american and japanese rides go - I HATE japanese cars... The only one I've ever driven is my dad's 06 Altima... It's alright.
I used to have a Mustang, and it handled a lot different than the audi, and rode different too... That's why I'm thinking it may be a shocks thing...

I don't think we can compare these Audi's with the new ones or with the 550. These seem to be very "sport tuned" as opposed to "luxury tuned"
I've got Goodyear Assurance 205/65-15 and the Boges as I said, and we can really "feel" the road....grooves in the pavement, ridges, small shallow pot holes or other imperfections, etc. Pretty stiff. The 2 sedans I just had were the same.

My mother-in-law took her car to the dealer for service and they filled the tires to spec after whatever service they did and sent her on her way.
she said after about 10 miles the tire pressure monitor kept beeping..The pressure went from 38 to 52 psi.
She came by the next day for an unrelated reason and asked me to check her tires because the thing kept beeping, Two of the for were at 52 the other two were 48 and 49 the max on the tire said 45...
I figured the car had sat a few hours and they filled it cold
