Rounded off o2 sensor.

Ok,
So after finding a date of 3/93 on my o2 sensors I decided to go through with changing both of them. I wound up able to change one, and solder the connectors and everything, and then able to round the other one off reeeeeal nice (stupid o2 socket couldn't hold the torque needed to remove it - this is me blaming anything but my self). I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas on how to get the one on the passenger side off?
I've soaked, and soaked it with pb blaster. I can reach in through the fender well with a vice grips, and get some good leverage, but nothing.
What about leaving that one in there, and using the hole that is plugged, but closer to the head for the new sensor?
Maybe I'll just take it to an exhaust specialist.
BTW-The passenger one has taken much a beating, and a heating, and I still am not getting any check engine codes...

eventually, everything will come off. It may take a couple seconds or a couple hours (had that one too, an old '85 GTi).
Grab either your O2 socket and clamp a wide-mouthed lock-grips, tightening the open part up; Then grab it and pull. Or just go straight to the lock-grips on the rounded-off part, the part that's supposed to be hex. Let us know how it turns out.

I've already spent the 'couple of hours' and I'm down to the lock grips. I'm just going to keep soaking it this week and try to get at it Friday or Saturday...
Funny how much nicer the car runs, and has power at the low end even with the one new o2 sensor.
Nice pun, I will let you guys know how it turns out ;0)

I was thinking of something like that, or just drilling it out a slight bit smaller than the threads and picking the un-drilled threads out. I would also guess I could just use a cut-off wheel and slice the sensor down to the rounded off bolt. Remove my exhaust before doing that and plug the pipe that goes to the cat. And then use that rounded off bolt remover. What creativity.
Man, that seems like a lot of work.

Or you could go at it with a propane torch. Heat the MANIFOLD not the O2 sensor. You want to expand the hole to make it loose.
Once hot, a few raps with a hammer and then begin to try and turn it. Heat will do the trick along with brute force.
