I don't know when this was done, or by which mechanic (rents used to own the car), but they claim they've never messed with the SAI, but, since my CEL has been on with my secondary air pump, i hear it running when i start the car cold, so the pump is still working, and i tried checking the tubes, no real distinct signs of air leaking/hissing or anything
but i noticed that right near the front of the engine
as seen in this photo posted earlier

...right near the top of where the line starts, there are what seems to feel like two pieces of piping connected by only electrical tape...!
Now im assuming noone else who has this coming from their engine (as the older models dont have this), has electrical tape there, right? I havent had the time to take it apart and look under it, but i have a feeling this is causing air to leak/CEL to go on.
Is it also a safe assumption that since the pump is still going, its not a bad pump, and most likely is a leak in the hoses somewhere?
Thanks very much in advance.

on it is probably a source of a leak, which would trigger the CEL.

As a temporary fix you can use a section of bulk heater hose (like NAPA sells) to slip both of the broken ends into. A couple of zip ties will make it more of a permanent fix. But I would still order the new hose.
I think the secondary air injection is looking to see the blower come on, and I think it looks for pressure to build up in "x" amount of time. Otherwise it turns on the CEL.

and i really never even noticed, it has prob dried out or something and air has started to seep through, causing pressure to drop, triggering CEL.
Hopefully its that easy of a fix, i'll try to tackle it today =)
