Shucks. My compressor isn't compressing. Or something like that...

That's one of the drawbacks of having your compressor replaced in the winter. When the air outside is 20, it's hard to get it to *not* be cold blowing inside of the car.

Could just have another massive leak in the front end of it. It's going in tomorrow for the 02s anyway. Will have it checked.

Question comes from my GM car experience: On some of their cars (98 Gran Prix with auto temp control)compressor is ALWAYS ON (while AC is ON)-double checked-apparently some new (97+) types of compressors. In my previous Audi (5000 S) compressor was cycling (i.e. clutch was engaging occasioanally with AC ON)-like in many other cars. Since I got this 97 A6 I could not confirm (using Car Manual, Haynes and Bently)is compressor supposed to be ALWAYS ON with AC ON, or sometimes ON-sometimes OFF. This morning I visited decent shop-not dealer, and they told me that on few A6 there is a AC system with compressor that is ALWAYS ON-with AC ON. Any thoughts?
