Default speed bump..

I was travelling 95 mph down a side road and hit a speed bump, is that bad for my car? The car still runs great, no problems after the incident...

95mph? Doesn't sound like you know what you're doing.

Default Well its definitly not good for it.

I couldn't image hitting one going 30 mph and not thinking about what damage has been done, let alone 95. You may want to have it checked out.

Default Side road + Speed bump

Never heard of that before?!

Speed bumps is fer city folk, and we ain't never gonna git goin 95 in no dang burn city.

Seriously, can't hurt to have it put on a lift a get a once over. If it's been awhile since you've had an alignment, now's a good time.

Yup, we shur do like them "speed bumps"!

If the car drives fine, it is probably ok. You, on the other hand, need your head checked out

Default Because you were going fast enough, your shocks ....

will not have compressed very much (a shock absorbers resistance to motion inceases with velocity, a springs resistance to motion increases with displacement). Because your shocks didnt compress very much you are unlikely to have caused much damage, provided you didn't scrape the underside of the car.

Default Actually

for that reason, is why the MOST amount of damage occurs. With the shiocks not compressing, much of the impact force is transmitted to the rest of the stucture, leading to?
