This just started... I have 73500 miles and the front brakes were changnged at about 40000. Do you think this is the audible warning??/ the warning light is still not on... This squeek comes only when the car is about to stop... in the last 10-15 feet or so...
Any ideas??

Take off the front wheels and inspect the pads. You should be able to tell if they need to be changed. The squeeking comes from the back of the pad rubbing against the brake piston. I usually put some kind of brake pad backing on before I instal new pads. I allow them to cure overnight before puttin them on, many of the pads out today come with a backing already in place. the squeeking will not have any bearing brake power or on pad wear. Its just an annoying noise that happens when you don't have pad backing on or when the backing has worn away.
