Steering Rack BT: So at what point does one decide a steering rack needs replaced/rebuilt?

I ask because having just taken care of my rear tranny output seal leak, I now only have my steering rack leak dripping down. However, my car still steers fine, I have no noises in my steering and I only put in an inch to inch and a half of fluid every few months, so it is not like my rack is pouring out fluid. To me, I am thinking that this leak is not bad enough to justify all the time and expense of replacing or rebuilding my rack, yet at least. What does everyone else think?

I would say that when it gets too annoying to clean or step in that is when you should change it.
From what you said that is a pretty small leak.
It is not damaging it further to leave it leaking.

It just drips down my engine and burns off driving. I guess the reason I wanted it fixed was to have as few things wrong with my car as possible. I just have to remind myself that I drive an Audi and something will always be wrong with it. :-)
