Significant of CV Boot and Tie Rod End...
TIE ROD END: The tie rod end is the little part that connect the end of the Rack and Pinion to your front wheel assembly. If you turn your steering wheel all the way left, you can see it inside your wheel well above everything else. If you look at it, you can see that is has a little ball joint, with a rubber boot, where it connect to the wheel assembly. Check the little boot to see if there's any crack or hole. The rubber boot should be pack with some grease. The movement of this joint should be somewhat tight without any freeplay. If there's freeplay when you grabbed it and shake it, then you have a bad Tie Rod End. You could probably feel some thump or shakyness on your steering wheel when you're driving.
CV BOOT: the cv boot is the rubber thing on the drive shaft (Front wheel). One each shaft, there should be two of them. One on the end that connect to the tranny, and the other to the wheel. The boot is used to hold the grease for the bearing inside the CV Joint to reduce friction. If the boot is bad, you will eventually lose all the grease and increase friction and cause CV Joint failure. This is what make your wheel turn and allow you to go around corner at the same time. You normally won't find them on rear wheel drive vehicle. You need to visually inspect it for crack. If there is, you should replace it and pack the joint with more grease.
I hope this help
