Hi. Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction here. I was driving my '93 100CS down the highway tonight, running great as ever and all of a sudden the check engine light comes on (several other lights came on too), flashing and clicking and the engine cuts out. I quickly pulled over, popped the hood and found nothing obviously wrong or out of place. I hopped back in, tried to start it and it fired right up. I drove to the next exit, got under some light for abetter look...again, nothing obvious. I drove the remaining 50 miles home without incident. Any ideas of what to check? I want to nip any problems before my next long drive. Thanks very much!!

If clicking is under dash, it is likely the fuel pump relay. This seems to be a semi-common problem. Engine shuts off under heavy load. I had this problem for a while. A new fuel filter, and possibly even a new fuel pump could be needed. How old is your fuel pump/filter?

must have been some relay. i never had any problems.
the engine shut off always happened when i drove on the interstate at a constant speed. driving with the cruise control on fixed the engine shut off problems.
when i drove different speeds on the interstate i didnt have the problem.
hope this helps
