Default Temp gauge

Yesterday my 95 A6 temp gauge went from its usual first bar to the 2nd big line. Which is normal for warm weather, but since its been cold the temp gauge has only been going to the first or 2nd line [the little fat ones]. It didn't over heat or nothing, but I'm curious as to why its running at reg temp level now. should I be worried or just keep and eye on to see what it does. Also as I was coming into work this morning it was about 25 degrees outside. I got stuck in traffic cause some idiots didn't know how to drive in the snow/ice. The temp went up to its normal range again, but as I moved it started to go back down a lil. Any advice? I didn't have any problems driving in "bad weather", unlike some of the other good ole boys with there trucks. Audi rules.

I've experienced the same, even after I had the thermostat replaced. What I have experienced will help during the cold season, is to cover the radiator with a piece of thin plywood or similar. That'll get your temperature up faster and keep it more stable during driving.
