I have a 96 Avant and was wondering if there is anyway (if anyone has done this before) to get a newer 97 style keyless entry system to work in my car.

I have a two button flip key already.I was told in 97 when they changed, they had electric locks not the air locks like mine. I also know they had a panic nutton in 97 also instead of lock and unlock. I would really like to use my flip key remote, so how hard would it be to do.

You can either change the whole system or retrofit the guts of the stock remote into the flip key.

Dam, I replied really late, but thanks for replying, maybey in the future I may look into doing this.

Did you get the flip key recut like your factory one?

I like the Audi flip-keys, and I need to get another set (to have as a spare). My car only came with the one, single key (and no remote)... Can that be done?
