Third Brake light LED Specs for A6 98 Wagon
I am trying to replace all of the my Third Brake light LEDs and can't read the specs on any of them...worn out.
Also if anyone knows how to clean up the rust on the tiny connectors...that are rusted due to salt.
I remember the dealer once mentioning close to $4 for each...so I am trying from the likes of Autozone and Autohauzas...

DO NOT buy aftermarket bulbs. Period.
I've been down this road already. If you put aftermarket bulbs in, the brake light warning will be tripped in the dash display.
Just go to the dealer and buy them. I think I only paid $2, or maybe $3ea. They'll last another 10 years.
As far as rust goes, if you're treating rusted areas in the body, follow recommended rust prevention methods like you find with products like:
POR-15
Silver Bullet
Etc.

Thnks for reply...I have the part# N 900 5102.
Spoke to Bell Audi her in NJ...asking for $5 a piece...
Since I read OS 12 V 1.2 W for the bulb next to the gear shifter...which means Osram Sylvania manufactures them... I presume the 3rd tail light LED is also manufactures by OS
Now for the third tail light indicator I just can't read the specs it all faded....
Another thing I read that you also replaced the climate control bulbs...what specs and how many you need ?

Try your VW dealership. "N" numbers are just sort of generic equipment numbers.
VW/Audi uses the "N" numbering for nuts, bolts, washers, screws, bulbs, o-rings, etc. So you VW dealer will have the same bulbs for half that because they'll be used in Passat and Jetta.
Just take out the bulbs from the climate control and take them down to a NAPA or similar good auto parts store and replace them. You just need something close in wattage and the exact same base.
The 3rd brake light does not contain LED's. They are individual "peanut" bulbs.
