Default Timing belt change turned expensive...

After the TB came off (which was in GREAT shape after 60k), the idler appeared to be laboring... already planned to replace the tensioner and WP. But the serp tensioner was ticking. $220 for the upgraded tensioner and belt that eliminates one of the rollers.

$500 in parts alone on the TB change!

Default why did you change tension and different belt?

when i did mine, i stayed with the old, longer belt and replaced roller and old tensioner. i figure the old belt had gone around the longer path millions of times, why not the replacement?

Because I couldn't get the old tensioner! Just the new upgrade kit.
