transponder key ??
does anybody know where a transponder
key can be purchased ofr my 96 A6 Its the old non
folding type- My key remote function has stopped operating and Audi UK charge extortionate rates for replacement
Also i have just purchased a VAG OBD connector and software but cannot locate the connector.
As it is a 96 I have been lead to believe it is
either by the parking brake or by my knees some say it is in the relay box and hence will require
a 2x2 adapter - i will keep searching

The OBD connector is next to the parking brake..
Take a look at what I did to replace a Key. I installed a whole new aftermarket system for less thant the price of 1 FOB. I got 2 FObs and some relays free with that. Please look inside the FAQ links posted by Beep-Beep

bought my switchblade key at eBay...
for (US$15) to replace old non folding key. Had new key cut by the dealer(US$16), new batteries and reprogram using instructions found in the forum...
