Update - 1996 A6 automatic Quattro shutter
Drove this a few times and have made a determination:
2 trans shops say bad trans.
Shake occurs at ~ 18 MPH and ~42 MPH
If I drive at 42 the shake is constant. Maintaining 42 MPH, I drop from D > 3, then 3 > 2 gear. Shake remains constant.
I see this as NOT being the trans! If the RPM changes, the shake should too if its trans related. Seems to be related to vehicle speed, like the carrier bearing for the drive shaft is worn out and resonating just at the right speed.
Opinions? Thanks!
