From what I've read from Ross-Tech the newer software and interface(HEX/CAN) takes advantage of the newer/more elaborate C5/C6 platform but not hte C4. Trying to make a decision if I just need to get he 'dumb' interface in ebay and buy the software license from Ross-Tech. Working on a limited $$$. Thanks!

I'm just using the free version and a 30$ cable and it does my codes fine. (shrug)

can the free one reset the 'In' service indicator and show codes from tranny?

I just did this. Now I had zero codes to reset but it would allow it (the free version) had I needed to do it. The only problem I have (if it is a problem) is that I can only see the controllers listed below. I also have comm problems at times. I will be setting up a new Laptop specificaly for use with the Vag Com and I am hoping the comm problems go away. Now can someone tell me what controllers I should see in on a 1994 100cs. Thanks

Yes, you'er right. I turned the airbag search off or I should say it defaults to off. Have you used the scope at all?
