Warning when changing headlight bulbs !

I upgraded my headlight bulbs a few months ago with 95/100 watts to see if they would be much brighter than the standard ones.For a while they were much brighter but when removing the black cover to clean the lenses again i noticed the plastic where the bulbs plug into have started melting.I assume by the higher the heat the 100 watt bulbs give off.

So it's not quite double the amerage, but you see what I'm saying.
55w / 12v = 4.6A
100w / 12v = 8.3A
All that times two bulbs and you're really loading the circuit and playin with fire, hopefully not literally!
