I called my local dealer to get just a small can of paint for my '95 A6Q. I thought that I would just get ONE can, no I go to pick it up and it's in a pack of three small spray paint cans. One is white, one pearl and the third is a clear coat. My car is the Pearl color the one that is almost impossible to match up new. The service guy said this was the only way to fix any rock/paint chips in the paint. Has this happend to anyone else? Just curious.

My dealer sold me a pck with two cans but it was like ladies' nail polish. One is paint-the other is blender.I tried and it's kinda crappy cause original paint already changed it's colour with years so touch up sticks out.If You want the real deal-You'll have to go to a high end body shop.If You are about saving money like me-try doing it yourself

Ah, pearl paint. The most expensive, most difficult to match, but most attractive, paint color for a car, especially an A6. The dealer was right, three stages. Just don't scrape your car, it is a minimum $1,000 repair job to paint an entire side.

mixed them together, and used a sharpened toothpick to fill the small chips. I didn't bother with the clear because it would have been hard to blend it in with the rest of the finish.
