Default Wheel spacers...does it matter if they're hubcentric or not?

Bought a set of Shur Grip Z (model SZ329) cables for snow traction because where we ski there can be mandatory "show chain" useage regardless of if you're 4x4 or not. I'm running 205/65-15's, and there wasn't sufficient clearance between the front strut tie-rod arm and the inner sidewall. So, I bought a set of HR longer (35mm)wheel bolts and 8mm thick spacers.

Installed the spacers and wheel bolts, and the snow cables fit great, with just enough clearance.

My question is, I bought a set of non hub centric spacers. They fit fine, the wheels mount fine and there's no vibration at any speed. Can I run them? Or, do I need to buy the spacers with the hub centric shoulder?

Default Without the hubcentric spacer the entire weight of the vehicle will be resting on your lugs.

I would never use anything besides a hubcentric spacer if I had to, but if they're only going to be used occasionally when you're skiing I'm sure you could get away without them. I'd still try to find a cheap set of hubcentric spacers though.

Default Point taken. I'm ordering them with proper centers now.

The local German parts place just happened to have a "returned" set, so I was hoping to take advantage. But, it's not worth it if it becomes a safety issue and the ski mountain is a 3.5hr drive away. That's a lot of hours on the road at speed!

What size spacers? I need 8mm for my A8 wheels. Maybe ECS...

Default I ordered 5mm hub centric to replace the 8mm non hub centric that I just put on.

If you want the non hub centric 8mm's, email me.

Yep, I don't like to screw around with wrong/mariginal parts...or safety. There's no $ saving in it.

hubcentric is ideal but non hubcentric is fine unless you don't torque your lugs
