Anybody know where to get a clutch for 95 ac compressor for 95 A6? Mine's shot, and no hope to just renew the bearing as I had to drive it too far after it started to go. I hate to replace the entire compressor just for the clutch, besides the cost is huge for a compressor.

go to car-parts.com. that is where i found a complete, working compressor and took the clutch off to swap to mine.

you might also call the yards that have the compressor and ask if they have a bad one (bad compressor, not clutch)

if you find one with a clutch, you could put a new bearing in it.

you had written to me a while back, looking for the part number of the bearing. sorry, i never got bact to you. here is a telephone number and some part numbers. not sure which is the replacement bearing and which is the original. i just had these numhber on my computer without a description. call this person and ask.

Thanks for the tips. I'm planning on trying to find a short multi-rib belt that will drive everything but the a/c for now, while I look for a clutch - and or - complete used compressor. I was on a sales trip and 300 mi from home when te bearing started screaming, and I had no alternative but to keep driving. Otherwise I would have done a bearing R&R and call it a day.
