I recently picked up a 1984 Audi 4000s and I'm having some CIS(I think) issues. The original 84 motor was locked up so I switched it out for an 81 1.7l, however I retained the 84 fuel system up to the injectors. I was able to get the car running and even drove it 300 miles before it shut off while on the highway and will not come back. The original issue was bad fuel clogging the pump, but even after replacing the pump/filter and flushing the tank and lines it still won't run. It has spark, and I haven't touched the distributor since it shut off so it should be timed correctly. I have fuel all the way up to the injectors, but I cannot get them to spray. I checked the system fuel pressure and it is at least 100 psi, but I have not checked the control pressure yet. I tried propping open the airflow plate and I was able to make an injector spray but it still wouldn't start. I also tried ether to no avail, which was confusing because the spark seemed strong. Any help would be appreciated, the car has been sitting for weeks and I'm tired of not being able to drive it

Hello,

most likely you main piston inside the CIS distributer is stuck or the O-rings are gone. Get a rep kit and redo the whole unit. You need to know what to do here. If you don't feel comfortable in doing this, don't. Find somebody that can do it for you or send it to somebody to rebuild it.
