We just bought this car--and really want to use it--my husband needs it to go to work and he's done work on cars before, but needs some parts and input especially about the E brake, which is not working...

Default e-brake

I would assume that if the car has been sitting it will need new e-brake cables, very easy to replace and only about $20 each US per side, buy New ones though as they all gunk up and stop working.

Default thanks, how about a lead on finding that back lens???

do you know where we could find that back lens for the passenger side? part 811 945 225e?

we won't pass inspection until we fix that...

thanks for the lead on the e-brake.

Default Try a local junkyard, as it's $163.63 new @ busdepot.com

Where are you located? Maybe there's a forum member who is close by that could lend you 1 to get through inspection.

http://www.busdepot.com/details.jsp?partnumber=811945225E</a

Default I'm on Cape Cod in Massachusetts--anyone know of salvage yards?

anyone know of salvage yards on cape cod--in southeastern mass that have a lot of audi parts...we are really new to all this--i'm used to only calling salvage places when i need a new window b/c of a break-in...calling for actual parts is something new to me...

Default Self Serve Auto Parts, E. Freetown...

North of New Bedford off Rte 140. Chace Road. They have an '86-87 4KQ. Fairly complete last I saw of it. Front calipers gone. Steve at the counter is sort of an Audi guy.

I expect they would pull it for you, but as the names says, they are really Pick n' Pull. Open Sat. and Sun. Steve doesn't work Saturdays.

I mean to get there in the next few days, to get some things for my 90. If I do, I'll shoot some pics and send them.

Default Re: brakes/ lens

sometimes its just best to hit advance auto/ parts america for the calipers-rebuilts run $79 plus -the stuff freezes up especially if the e-brake hasent been used in a while --- as far as the lens goes i have one from my 87csq it has a 1/8" crack in it - yours for just shipping charges
