4000q on ebay

I see it all the time where I live. Making a car a whole car again doesn't make it worth more, it sets it back to the baseline.
Don't even get me started on those money order scams. It took me forever to sell my car and some rims on Craigslist because I'd keep getting flooded with that stuff (or "click on this link" scams). It seems that putting "no scammers" in the listing works fairly well though, which I think is funny.

looks like a Lemons car at this point.
i have a line on a good running fairly original 4000Q and may end up trading the current owner a paint job on his other 4000Q (with turbo conversion) to get it.
Clean 4000s are getting very hard to find these days. Its easier to find sports cars from that era than 4 door sedans.
anyone know about fixing dead A/C in these cars? can you upgrade them to later model compressors with some custom brackets?

What model were you considering? From what I have seen, the 80/90 and 100/200, 4 and 5 cylinder blocks have the same casting shape on the front of their engines and use the same 3 belt set up. Once they changed to the 2.7 or 2.8, though, I can't help you there.

are they on a car now and working? if not, that's what I already have! That stuff just goes bad once the system is opened up and the compressor is left dormant for a long time.

These 4000 and 90 body styles with the quattro option are getting much harder to find from what I have seen. I have been tracking this site, eBay, and Craigslist for the past 3-5 years trying to see if I could find a 90 body in decent shape, but in need of the mechanicals. Between the three sites, there used to be 8-12 listed and in various conditions at any given time. Now, if I see one, it's in too good of shape to justify swapping the new parts to it from mine.
this is a fun search engine to finds stuff listed anywhere on CL.(and will eventually get shut down by CL because they do not allow this kind of thing)

I've noticed some nice 90s and 4000s with descnet bodys on the west coast, but they are often in very good condition all around.
This is a very big help though. Thanks

This one is sweet. I am looking for a car for my kid. Wish this was closer to my home in Vermont.
