4kq rear control arms

Having all 4 corners of the suspension on the 4kq freshened up and the guy calls me to tell me that he wont be replacing the rear ca bushings because they are welded in. Huh? The good? The rear ball joints came right out without beating on them.

You are lucky the rear ball joints came out easy. One of my rears was a PITA because one of the bolts snapped off inside the housing.
And no, the rear control arm bushings come out, just like they should. Tell your mechanic they are called "bushings" for a reason and CAN be replaced :P

What? They didn't want the bushing to fall out? Not much chance of *that* happening!
As a solution, "someone" could aways have a go at 'creative angle grindering' to grind enough of the welds & bushing off to get the bushing out. Probably turn out to be a pain though, as these kind of jobs normally do.
Or you could always spring for new arms. I don't think that they are that much from some of the online places..
