Default 4ktq starting issues

Welllll, still having some slight starting issues with the car. Heres the deal.
In the morning after the car has sat all night it will fire up just fine. Car drives fine, actually better than before (I replaced some vac lines this weekend and adjusted the idle). Sometimes the idle does creep back up to around 1000 or a hair above it after I come to a stop, but its random.
If I drive the car a while and then shut it off, it will restart perfectly right after and even an hour or so afterwards. Its after 3-4 hours of sitting that it takes 3 or so attempts to get it to fire up, but again, once it fires up it drives fine.

This issue started a week ago. Figured it was due to some vac leaks. I would pull the oil cap and the car would not stall. Replaced an intercooler hose, and a few other vac lines, car now stalls when oil cap is removed, and there are NO fault codes (checked tonight).

Not sure what the deal is. Any ideas? The car always does start and get me moving, so thats a plus.

The first thing I'd do is a residual pressure check. It almost sounds like the fuel accumulator is loosing pressure. Generally, the fuel pump check valve will also cause the same symptom, but it usually comes on after about 5 minutes of sitting. You can very easily check the Accumulator by pulling the small screw out of the opposite side from the fuel lines. If there is fuel there, or it looks like there may have been, the diaphram is probably ruptured.

Default Car starts fine in the morning

After its sat for quite a long time. Roared to life great this morning. I thought the same thing, but having it sit longer but start better didnt make much sense.

That is why I suggested what I did. If you understand vapor lock on older cars, this is essentially what your car is doing-or so I suspect. What happens is, when you shut off your car, the injector lines get all the heat from the exhaust, plus the rest of the engine. If there is pressure in the lines, that raises the boiling point of the fuel above the temperature they encounter. However, if you loose that pressure, the fuel boils out of the lines and it takes a lot of cranking to clear that air, BTDT. Usually the FP check valve goes, causing this, but that generally affects from about the 5 min point (or less) till the car cools (several hours, depending on ambiant temp). However, since your car will start 15 min after shutdown, but not later, this points toward a more gradual fuel pressure loss.
