5000S seats
Does anyone know if 5000S seat tracks are the same as 4000S seat tracks? I found a nice set of power seats at the wreckers, is this a possible conversion?
Thanks;

Re: 5000S seats
Type44 seat base/track is wider, and the mounting points up front are different between a power and non-power seat.
Doable, yes, if you get a power seat base from a type85, cut out the power seat front mounting points, remove its wiring harness, cut your cars manual seat front mount, spot weld in the power mounts, graft in the wiring harness, put the type44 seat on the type85 base, and then you can put that seat in there. Helluva lot of work. Contemplating doing that swap between the CQ and Cabrio.

Re: 5000S seats
Thanks, sounds like more work than I want to invest right now, might just install a pair of Recaros on VW bases that I already have (not power).I read in the FAQ that the tracks are the same as Jettas.
