Default 5cyl - best way to replenish after draining all coolant??

Historically I fill up everything. Warm it up and once the thermostat opens I find the radiator to be very low. Makes me think I could warp something. Maybe this only happens after I had the energy to also replace the thermostat - regardless is there a proper way to fill the system so there aren't air pockets.

Default What we did...

When I took my car to Jim and he helped with the timing belt/water pump/thermostat/new coolant tank, we did something.
After draining the coolant, installing new parts, we filled the coolant tank with G12 and distilled water til the "minimum" mark on the tank. Then started the car with the coolant cap off, and let it run til the fans kicked on. I cannot remember if we added more water/coolant then, but I think I wanted til after I got home (2+ hour drive) and then checked it when the car was cool.

On my car, there's a Bleeder screw on top of the radiator that should let the air out.

I always start by filling the block up through the thermostat housing. Put it back, then fill the radiator.
Lastly do the header tank, of course remembering to keep the heater controls on hot.
Has never caused any problems yet, although I m more likely to pull these cars apart than fix them!

I've seen Bleeder screw on top , but my 83cgt doesn't have it.
