Default 86 4kq stumble...

So, I cleaned the engine bay somewhat yesterday in the 4kq, and noticed some "not nice" after effects. Coming home from my friends house a few hours later, the car lost power, I would press the gas, no dice, then it would all of a sudden jerk and go back to normal, then do the same sequence again. Later on, when I started up the car and went on my way, the car bucked really violently, it was horrible. It did this again when I was at speed in 4th gear, I downshifted into 3rd, then the car seemed ok, so I upshifted to 4th again, car lost power until I shifted back into 3rd. Later on that night, the car was fine when driving home, lots of power, and no trouble.
I have some brand new bosch supers Im gonna toss in there shortly, and clean up whatever wires I seee that need it.
But, what could be a possible problem I caused while cleaning?

...AS4K you got water in your distribtor cap. pop your distributor cap off and run a rag inside the cap and your rotor. Maybe use a hair dryer to dry off your distributor. Next time you want to wash your engine place a plactic bag over your distribtor cap and seal it with a rubber band around it.

Yeah, I covered both the cap and rotor, but I guess I didnt do a good enough job. I figured thats all it was, but it perplexed me that it happened throughout the day. I changed the plugs this morning, and made sure all the plug wires are dry on the distributor side.
All is good now (knock on wood).
