Default Re: Hmm, those might be tough to come by for a non q. As for the struts..

Thank you, I've got both front struts and will do them together once I locate the springs. I'd love Derek's email if you have it, I'm trying to get in touch with anyone who might know how to find me some springs! Thanks

Thanks for everyone's help. I will check out the reccomendations when I'm back on my home computer later, and post a pic for the person who asked.

Another question if anyone knows: what springs would work for my car? Does it have to be from the same make and model? How do I know which ones would and wouldn't work? Thanks again you guys are great...

Default Yeah, they will physically fit, but they are most likely stiffer like you said

put them in a 4cl car with a lighter engine and trans and you may have a monster truck on your hands..

haha! Well the guy who chopped the springs said the stock height looked ridiculous because it was so high and that's why he lowered it.
I'm really hoping to just get the car to a normal height...

Default Don't the springs have a paint mark to indicate the stiffness.

I think I've seen 'em with green , or yellow marks.

Default Yup, there's a color code on them. It's either to indicate stiffness or which model they are for

not sure how that works..

Default They are in EKTA but don't denote what stiffness each mark means...

...not like it does for the 90.

Default I don't know if you're still looking but check www.car-part.com...

...I'm trying to locate a pair of stock, FWD, 4-cyl rear springs and they listed many all over the country.

Default What kind of weirdo saves parts for a lowly 4-cyl 4000?

Me! I have two full sets of '87 4000s springs somewhere in the bin or the parts car in the shed.

Personally, I'd just put some proper lowering springs on it. I put Eibachs on mine and they aren't too low. In fact, I wish they were a bit lower but they handle well. Those may be hard to find new. Last time I checked, though, Summit had some Intrax springs available. I don't know anything about Intrax and I think you have look under '80-'84 models to find them.
