Default Addco sway bar installed pics

Hi all, after seeing 1981audi4k4e's post on the sway bar, I rang them up & got one for my CGT. Took a few days to get it & missed the track event, but it arrived intact and I put it on last nite.

Took me about 1-1/4 hours, one beer & no cussing (which is impressive for me..!) Here are some thoughts & pics:

1.) Their site says to have the suspension loaded while installing, so use ramps.. I gave mine away, so I jacked up the car & placed jackstands under the rear axel. Worked fine & gave enuf clearance for the drill.

2.) Assembling the end linkages is easy, but the directions are cryptic at best. Look at 1981audi4k4e's pics & the pics here to see the order of the bushings & washers.

3.) Drilling into the frame was easy, and I actually found a undercoating hole near enough to the mounting point so it could be used as one of the two holes on each side. Since the whole unit is held in place by tension on the mounting bolts, the oversized one hole shouldnt be an issue. We'll see. I figured less holes in my car the better.

4.) On the CGT the point on the frame where the endpoints mount is on a pretty severe angle downwards, so it took a bit of force to place the mounts on the bolts. I did not have to undo any brake lines as they suggest in the "instructions".

5.) all-in all it was pretty easy & straight forward.

Ive run it a bit this morning & last nite as hard as one can on the streets where I live & I find the car flatter, especially when pushed hard & accellerating out of a turn. It feels as if the car's getting pushed up & out..! Its cool.

It will be interesting to see the difference on a track, but that will have to wait until sailing season's over.

Anyone with comments etc, let me know..!

PS, I couldnt figure out how to post multiple pics & needed to get some work done this am... so go to my picture place & theres two more, including a closeup of the end mount. Feel free to tell me how post multiple pics..!!

Default Looks very similar to the BLAU rear sway I have.

I wonder if BLAU just sells the same bar under their own name? It appears virtually identical to what I have on my CGT.
