Default Another question, these damn hella 500s,

Ive been trying to wire my headlights in with the high beams, but every time I hook try to hook the supply wire from the switch into the high beam wire, nothing happens, the lights work while the supply is connected to the battery, but not the high beam wire, plus I think the damn supply wire blew out my bulb. Im reading 12 volts at the high beam wire, so I didnt blow any relays, fuses, or wiring harness out. What could be my problem?

Default The high beam wire is not a good place

You should go get a 30A(whatever the wattage is divided by 12) standalone relay. Then run the 12V line(switched) from the high beam switch to the relay and a larger 12 gauge wire to the battery from the relay with a 30A fuse at the battery. The 12 gauge "out" then goes to the lights. A breaker post relay will assure that the relay doesn't fry in case of a short at the lights themselves (say one brakes and the elements shorts).

This setup should not overload the existing circuits in anyway

Default I wonder why the sheet tells me to do that.

I thought it was odd to wire the supply in there too, overload the wire and the relays, they already look pretty old and crappy, and only carry about 9 volts now, im suprised anything still works on that light.
