Here's a treat. Wish I had some spare change floating around. OK, probably a LOT of spare change ![Frown](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

In 1985 I helped my sister buy a used Dasher for her first car. It was a '78 (slightly newer body style, fuel injected). Later she gave me the car after she overheated the engine and blew the head gasket or something. I fixed it up and kept it for a while.
Best thing about the car was the smoothness of the engine. It really sang at about 4000 rpm and was as smooth as a sewing machine. It was a 4 speed if I remember, and really fun to drive for its era. The sunroof seemed like a great novelty too, back then.
Since then I have owned 3 more passats, the best being a '92 16V / 5 speed that I bought for my wife when we got married. My wife would rather drive a Passat than ANYTHING else. Right now I am *forcing* her to drive my old A8, but she still pines for her little passats.
