Default attn: mt6127.. you said your odo stops counting on hot days?

why is that? Since I replaced my odo cable a few months ago, it doesn't count as fast as it used to. It doesn't make sense.

original post below.

Default VDO's undocumented feature...

my guess is the odometer's drive gear slips on its shaft when it heats up. I haven't bothered to open it up to look. My speedo works all the time and my cables are lubed. I've heard others repair a failed odometer by simply pressing the gear closer to the worm gear.

Default Mine too...

Just recently opened mine up to figure out what was wrong with it. The gear was cracked, just pushed it over and superglued it in place. Is there a replacement you can get for the cracked one? Cause I doubt that the superglue will hold for very long. BTW, the needle is a PITA to take off, be very careful. I had to rig mine back together.

Default Superglue...

I superglued my cracked gear to the shaft and it didn't hold at all. I tried a second time and accidentally superglued the cracked gear to the gear that drove it. DOH!

Default superglue worked for me...

replacement gear is probably hard as a mother to find, esp one from vdo... perhaps a hobby shop would have a similar one that fits? you know from an RC Car or something.
