I Blew a CV joint on my way home today and now I need to replace my axle, it's the passenger side one. Car is a Audi Coupe GT 1986 with 5cyl 5spd
wondering if the axles from a later model audi 90 will work (think it's either an 88 or a 90)...it's a quattro but has a 5cyl 20v motor with trans in it...reason I ask is they would likly be better then my other choices(and cheaper)
and will the axles from a 84 5000s with the WU motor work?, are all the axles the same?
ANY help is appreciated you guys are the best here!

I have a 87.5, and i took my axle to a rebuilder and had the whole thing including new boots rebuilt for $60. I would suggest you just have yours rebuilt.

Only CGT and 4kq axles will work, and 2.3 87.5 ones are different.
Junkyard or reman. I'd vote reman, as they aren't that expensive if you shop around and usually come with a lifetime warranty.
