Default Banjo bolt sizes?

Well, it happened before I got a chance to do some preventative maintenance. Fuel pissing out of the top of my accumulator. Looks like it's coming right through the head of the line that feeds into the accumlator!!

I've been accumulating parts in anticipation of doing a complete R&R on that pile of rust hanging around the right rear wheel...now I'm forced to. I know once I show it a wrench it will all vapourize instantaneously....except the gush of fuel that will somehow make it into my eyes and down my arm until it stings the living Bejeesus out of my armpits.

I have the two filters, new plastic lines (80 lines that I will modify) will get a new accumulator and check valve. I'll need new banjo bolts as well...anyone have the dimensions of these? (the one to the filter and the one to the accumulator). I think they are M12x1.5 thread? Need to know the lengths as well.

Thanks,
John

Default I think I just bought mine new from the dealer...

when I ordered my lines. I think I also ordered new crush washers to go with 'em.

I was wondering if you had done the conversion yet.

Default Not yet Chris.

I think I asked at the dealer when I got the lines and I THINK he said they had to be ordered. There's a hydraulic shop here that stock metric banjo bolts and has M12...just need to verify that and the length...too long is ok as I can cut to fit.

Default A check shows...

an M14x1.5 on the filter. There is a cap that fits on the check valve on the pump. I got a new one of those from the dealer, too.

Good luck and take your time with the fuel lines.

Default That I don't know...

I just ordered whatever was listed for my car.

The cap nut is listed as M12x1.5, in case you need a new one of those.

Default Cap nut on the check valve?

There are two accumulators, one early "big" one and a late "smaller" one. The early one is about $200 and the late $100. I'm pretty sure they are interchangeable though. Will let you know!

Default Yep...

Here are the pics again showing how I ran the lines. The cap nut is on the end of the check valve.

and a link showing that the check valve is threaded on both ends. This is assuming your set-up is the same as mine.

Check valve</

Default Re: Banjo bolt sizes?

Banjo on filter is M14x1.5 I believe and the fuel pump is M12x1.5. I posted a site here a few days ago with some CIS fittings, don't know if you purchased the Audi 80 lines yet but he might be able to get what you need.. and you can connect everything using FI grade hose and clamps for less. I know others just converted all the fittings to Aluminum AN style connections with braided hose, might be a nice long term fix too. Be careful of the fitting on the filter at the main fuel rail, don't want to replace that too! (although it might not be far behind in leaking)

http://specialtauto.com/delorean-parts/fuel-injection.html</a
