Well, since I wrestled out the pax headlight last night for the air filter change (cut the notch in the crossmember as well..made the job that much easier), I've decided to finally get around to installing my Cibie's.
I've looked at every wiring diagram that's been posted but still have some questions (not afraid of wiring but it always seems like I manage to screw something up). I have a used Blau harness but no documentation.
First: left to right low beam, high beam, park lights?
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/102793/img_1383.jpg">
Second: 9004 and mystery plug..not used??
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/102793/img_1384.jpg">
Third: any idea if this red wire (just above the loom) is supposed to be cut?
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/102793/img_1385.jpg">
Fouth: I assume that I wire the switch to the back of the relays to trigger?
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/102793/img_1386.jpg">
Fifth: I assume this is the in-line fuse? I haven't seen one quite like this before.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/102793/img_1387.jpg">
And last: This two foot piece of wire is there loose..two female ends...any idea of what it is for?
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/102793/img_1388.jpg">
Thanks!!

I pshopped an image I found online to put this one together (makes it a little easier to read). It's really straight forward. old headlight power lines go to the relays as the "switch" wires. New power lines run from the battery to the relay (with an in-line fuse), and then +12v from the relay to the lights. Ground wire goes on the relay as well. I ran 4 relays (one for each side & light). This will allow use of 55/100w H4's and 100w H1's (400w total when your brights are on, 100W H1's are "silverstars"). Using 4 relays also helps a bit if a relay or fuse blows only one light goes out, not both, so you aren't forced to run brights all the way home or anything.
This is for a B3 chassis, though Audi normally used the same color wiring for the 4kQ series (from what i understand)

The relay coils would always be energized, and power to the lights would still be coming from the headlight switch.
Swap the +12V from the battery to the 30 terminal of the relay and fuse that wire, instead of fusing the wires from the original headlight installation.

But I wasn't sure exactly what you are talking about. I double checked and the schematic was wrong so I did a quick fix (just changed the terminal numbers) until I get home to actually modify the image.
I actually ran out real quick to ensure my 90 is wired correctly, and it is

The coil should be 85 and 86, and the switched contacts should be 30 and 87.
If I were to fix the sketch, I would have swapped the physical connections of the 12V positive, and the switched power from the headlight switch.
Anyway, I'm sure it'll get fixed eventually, and the drawing is pretty clean, so when correct, it shouldn't be too confusing to someone with no experience, or to someone with.
