I got all of my brakes done recently [no small expense there...] and in the last two days I have a new [arrgggh] noise coming from what I believe is my brakes. It's a mild whine that starts upon deceleration and goes away when the brakes are applied. I'm really not too sure about this noise, as there is no lack of performance from the brakes, and no pulling or otherwise usual brake telltale signs.
I originally did the rears only, but had a front caliper on the driver's side to actually break which killed the whole rotor on that side, and had to replace that as well. Went ahead and did all the front brakes. Guess that this problem was metal fatigue due to age.
I'm hoping that the small whine is something due to the new pads, and have had that happen before on other cars, however my expereince is that this "wear-in" noise is present immediatly after installation of the new. This noise only started after about a month since the new brake work.
any ideas?
