Broken hood cable, any tips to open

Default Broken hood cable, any tips to open

I can get the passenger side released but can;t find/get to the drivers side.

Any hints on what I'm looking for and if I shoud be pulling or pushing?

Don't know the easiest way to explain, but there is a "spring" that is in the lock carrier that holds the hood in place. When this happened to me, I just stuck a screw driver through the grille, between the spring and lock carrier and spread it apart enough so the hood popped up. This spring is what the hood cable feeds itself through to unlock the hood.

The spring is a bar that is looped on one end and looks sorta like an "L" inverted. Now, I could show you in pictures alot easier than explaining it!

Hey, not bad! Now if I can get my son to help me....

Of course, he's not even 2 yet, but there are time where having small hands has it's advantages in these cars!
