Default Calling A4Wheelin

Here is how I sucked the Seafoam in through the intake....
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/74098/188743640069_0_0.jpg">

I hooked my suction line up to where that green cap is. However, when I looked on my other SB, its a straight line with no port, so apparently this one has been *fabbed up lol*. Since you probably done have that extra port, id just pop it off of the intake right there...it has great suction. I think a few posts down there is a nice write up link on it as well. Good luck!

Default Easy with that stuff guy's........

You can really damage your seals and even your piston rings with that stuff.

Default Re: Using Seafoam???

Let's look at the ingredients shall we.....

Pale Oil: pretty much just clean refined oil (like synthetic)

Isopropyl Alcohol (ISP) 100% Pure rubbing alcohol

And last but not least NAPHTHA: Naphtha is also known as Heavy Virgin Naphtha. And is basically this stuff
<img src="http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x96/StaleAle_Photos/300px-Camp_fuel.jpg">

When was he last time you put camp fuel, rubbing alcohol and oil in your gas tank. I don't know bout you but even though it says it is cool on your engine, IMHO I wouldn't do it. Poor some camp fuel on a rubber O ring and light it on fire to see what this can do to your seals. Also if you do use it DO NOT STAND ANYWHERE NEAR THE EXHAUST SMOKE as it is toxic!

Default Seemed to help my car out...

My car had some lifters that tapped some in the morning which really isn't that unusual but it's also got 200k and seemingly looked a little dirty in the valve cover. I ran the recommended dosage of SeaFoam through the oil - not in the gas though it mentions you can put that in there too. I put some good fuel injector cleaner in it. It seemed to make the tick less on startup. I changed the oil/filter after about 140 miles. Just don't put too much in or leave it in for too long and it should be good to eat up some of the caked on stuff over the years. It's good to use a detergent of some good brand if it hasn't been done in a 100k.

Default Yea when i ran it through my intake it quieted my noisy starts right up and I even picked up...

1.5mpg. I put a can in my gas and Im going to put some in my oil right before the next oil change. Im sure extensive use of it could eventually be harmful, but i can almost guarantee this is the first time anything like this has ever been done to my coupe lol. Thanks for the concern though StaleAle. ItsSpecial, hows that SB doin? I still need to get you that scan of my window sticker I know!! lol

Default Works wonders on rusted nuts and bolts though....

I used their "Deep Creep" product (its Seafoam in aerosol form), its a good rust penetrating lubricant.
