Clutch Slave cylinder

Clutch Slave cylinder
I am replacing my slave cylinder. It looks like there are no bolts holding it in. Does it just pull out with force or is there something actually holding it? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

There is a silly pin
Kinda tough to spot, but the pin slides through the transmission housing and holds the slave cylinder in (there is a slot all the way around the slave to permit this). Pin must be driven out with a punch of some sorts, and a hammer. Good luck, I helped TRY to drive one out last month and was unsuccessful. Remember to replace the clutch master cylinder at the same time!

Re: There is a silly pin
There is a clip that goes around the top. Thats gotta come off somehow. Then there is a pin, its small, that must be driven out, and its at the top of the transmission housing and it holds the top of the slave inside the transmission housing.

Funny,
On the rally car its a longer stainless steel pin with a large ring attached to the end (like a key ring) and its tapered on the other end. Reach down and pull it out!.
I was tweaking my slave cylinder throw out rod the other night by grinding off material to make the rod shorter until it was just right for clutch actuation, and I did 10 removal and install of the slave cylinder in the tranny housing in one night.

All James has to do to skewer folks here is to post pictures of his car, really [stand by for gratuitous rust-free picture of a rally urQ slave pin....] ;-)

:-D And 100 degree days.
But yeah, the stainless pin is very cool to have. Would be a sweet retrofit part!
AND
a post would not be complete with the gratuitous picture. I actually pulled it from the car to take the picture!
