just met a guy yesterday who owns a Coupe quattro, ive only ever seen one overhere, and that was in the scrapyard.
it looks just like the CGT but with quattro drive and the 10v 136 hp engine, no flared fenders like the urq.
anyway the car is up for sale, and hes letting go cheap because he needs money.
Problem is that ive got my hands full of cars as is, and i dont need it, but just cant get it out of my head.
If it was "just" a CGT i would not think twice about it, but because it is a quattro, im playing with the thought of buying.
If this was a rare bird it might be worthwile to get it and take care of it. Seems like it needs it also, passed 400000km and rust visible everywhere in the engine room on the small edges above the lights, in the bonnet and so forth.

they were available in the U.K., and apparently across Europe as well. I have some literature on the U.K. spec cars, but I am not sure how many may have been produced, not many I would imagine, especially if it is the first one you've seen for sale.

Coupe Quattro Production:
1984 (late):643
1985: 3885
1986: 2142
1987: 1116
Total: 7786
Taken from gtcoupe.se
Makes them pretty rare, fewer produced than the urquattro.
I love mine, and would heartily recommend one, but then again the snow season lasts five or six months here in norway

You want to import one to the us? Norway probably isn't going to be the best starting point since our car taxes are so high (100% on factory price plus additional taxes for weight, horsepower and displacement).
Denmark have high taxes aswell, sweden is a little better. You'll probably get the most for your money if you find one in Das Vaterland (germany
).
Just to provide an example; this car reportedly sold for around 3000$ with mass rust and body damage :/

http://forum.vwaudi-club.no/showthread.php?t=44223

if a drag another old Audi in to the house. :-)
would be happy to arrange info sharing if you are interested, but beware, it needs ALOT of TLC and money just to be in a decent shape, including new interior and probably a full respray (body rust)
Problem with Denmark is our high car taxes (apart from rust), 180% on the factory price, but it?s refundable except for 10%-15% of the tax which the guverment keeps at export, so he might be interested in exporting, and even more so, since it apperently been for sale for quite some time, and only one call on it.
Currently hes asking 40000 dkr=6500 US (yes 6-5-0-0 US dollars, told you about the taxes right :-) but he told me straight off, that an offer of 30000 dkr =4800 US and the car was gone.
Now alot of the price would be refunded by our state, so the price you would be paying would be alot less, but i do not have enough knowledge to guess about how much, shipping to the US is going to be a killer though.
You are very much welcome to email me, and then we can take it from there, if you?re interested :-)
