A few months ago, there was a '86 coupe that was on ebay. I read the ad, and figured out that it was located like 15 min.s away from me. I went and looked at it, and bid all that I was willing to spend at the time.
Someone else [no idea who] won the car on ebay. I wistfully thought about it for a week or so, then the holidays came and I forgot about it.
I got home yesterday, and there's a message on my machine from the guy that had the car up on ebay: "Ray, that guy who won the car has never come to get it, and never paid for it. Do you still want it?"
I havn't called him back.
I havn't quit thinking about it.
I'm in the middle of restoring my '84, very happy with the progress, and am spending $$$ on it freely.
Now this. what would you do?

She's in England enjoying the new grandson there. So, I could forseeably have this thing in the yard when she gets home.
I could likely get it for a small price. I could park it until I'm ready to work on it....

he will either take your offer or relist it and have to pay his fees all over again.

I'd hate to offer less than before, I was bidding low due to spending for the holidays. Grandkids and all that.
this is very tempting...... especially since I would really like one. Been a bit envious of all you coupe guys....

If you found it appealing, everything was in decent order, and you could add it to the stable, then why not.
But if you arent in the market then of course there may not be a need for it.

Adding to the stable is, well, carries a cost from the wife.
I'm quite sure that I wouldn't even work on it until the '84 is completed. maybe I'd try starting it w/ a new battery.... present owner claims that it ran fine, however battery is dead now.
Everything is there, nothing has been removed, the door handles even work.
