Is there such a thing? I thought there was. Anyhow, sometimes upon acceleration I get a "click click click" from the center of the car that is kind of a twang sound, but its metallic. Increases with speed, by the time Im in 3rd gear I cant hear it anymore. If I ease into first gear carefully, the noise isnt there.

Yes, driveshaft CV joints..

One at each end of the driveshaft (at rear of trans, and front of diff.)

Then there is also the hanger bearing that could make noise.

But best of all, you could be lucky, and find out the noise is your parking brake cable hanging a bit low and tagging the top of your driveshaft.

A little 'ting-ting-ting' kind of sound, usually worse with more load on the driveline? In otherwords, worst roaring off in 1st gear? (as that moves the driveshaft up the most)

Easy test: Pull up the parking brake lever a notch or two to take out some of the cable slack when it makes the noise. If the noise goes away, there's your problem solved!

I had a noise like that, my driveshaft had somehow snagged a piece of wire and was slinging it around the underside of the trans tunnel, eventually causing the driveshaft output flange seal to fail.

never did figger out where that wire came from...
