Default Audi wiring is notoriously shoddy on these cars

Being the auxiliary, you'll find that POs have chopped into it, created bad earths, high resistances, and all sorts of stuff.

From all the woes I had with mine, I'd guess it was something to do with the stereo not working - someone has played with the wiring behind the dash part. Disconnect and tape up all the non-essential stuff, drive for a while and see if a fuse pops. Unfortunately it could be anything - water getting into your trunk and shorting, crusty light cluster circuit boards - anything!

2nd. Look at the wiring behind the stereo.... especially if that's a replacement one.

Default Reverse Lights? Trunk hinge wiring?

If you are blowing fuses for anything that is in the back of the car, check the wiring on the left trunk lid hinge.

Wiring there often gets tangled up and mashed or pinched, resulting in all sorts of weird problems.

I finally figured that I only blew a fuse when I went to backup (revese lights were shorted out). Once I fixed the problem in the hinge wiring, all my tail lights worked better too!

Default 2nd looking at the trunk wiring..........

I've actually seen a couple of 4k's with the exterior paint burned at that location
